What is a Co-op?
  • Operating as a non-profit organization since 1956, the
Plainview Co-op is a nursery school where teachers, children
and parents interact to share an intimate and enriching pre-
    school experience.

  • The Co-op is comprised of it's Director, teaching staff and the
Executive Board -- dedicated to parents of current students
who volunteer their time to ensure the overall operation of the
    school.
How are decisions made in the school?
  • The school operates under the leadership of a Director and an
Executive Board, governed by our by-laws.

  • The Executive Board meets monthly to discuss school business
and to address any current concerns.  The Director works with
both the Executive Board and the parents to ensure that all
    needs are met.
What sets us apart?
  • The Plainview Co-op provides a high quality program for young
children and their families. Our greatest emphasis is placed on
the quality of interactions among staff and children and the
    developmental appropriateness of the curriculum.

  • We enjoy an intimate setting with only two classes in session
    at a time.
What are my responsibilities?
  • Aside from participating on your child's "special day",
parents serve on a committee.  Committee participation is an
integral part of the Co-op experience and an opportunity to
meet new friends and express your talents.

  • Parents are encouraged to attend General Membership
Meetings held at a the school approximately five times a year.
